Welcome to Inktavo! This guide will walk you through the initial setup of your new Mac. Follow these steps carefully to ensure your device is correctly configured and enrolled in Inktavo's management system.

Select Your Language: When your Mac starts up, the first screen will ask you to choose your preferred language. Select your language from the list and then click the arrow to continue.

Choose Your Country or Region: Next, you'll be prompted to select your country or region. Choose the appropriate option from the dropdown menu and click Continue.

Accessibility Options (Optional): The following screen provides options for accessibility features. Configure these to your needs or, if you prefer, click Not Now to skip this step.

Connect to Wi-Fi: You will now see a list of available Wi-Fi networks. Select your Wi-Fi network, enter the password if required, and click Continue. A stable internet connection is essential for the next steps.

Remote Management: You should now see a screen with the title Remote Management. This screen will indicate that "This device is owned and managed by Inktavo."
- Important: If you do not see this screen, your device has not been properly prepared for automated enrollment. Please stop here and contact the IT Support team immediately for assistance. Do not proceed with the setup without this confirmation.

Sign in with Your Microsoft Account: On the next screen, you will be asked to sign in with your Microsoft account. Please use your Inktavo account credentials (your Entra account) to log in here.
- Important Note: If this is your first time signing in, your Inktavo account password for signing into your Mac will be the same as your Google account password (which you use for email).

Data & Privacy: Review the Data & Privacy information presented on the screen and click Continue to proceed.

Create a Computer Account: The "Create a Computer Account" screen will appear. You will notice that the Full Name and Account Name fields are automatically filled based on your Microsoft account login. Create a password for your local Mac account in the Password field. You can also add an optional password hint. Once you've entered your password (and hint, if desired), click Continue.

Enable Location Services: You will be asked if you want to enable Location Services. You can optionally choose to enable this feature or click Continue to disable it. You can also adjust these settings later in System Settings.

Select Your Time Zone: If you enabled Location Services on the previous step, you may wish to set time zone automatically by ticking the box. Otherwise, on the map displayed, you can either manually click on your location to set your time zone or use the dropdown menu to select it. Once your time zone is correct, click Continue.

FileVault Encryption: You will see a screen indicating that "Inktavo requires FileVault encryption on this Mac." Your FileVault Recovery Key will be displayed. This key is also stored automatically in our device management portal and can be accessed at any time by IT or by logging into your Microsoft account in the web portal. Click Continue to enable FileVault.

Touch ID (Optional): If your Mac has Touch ID, you will be asked if you want to set it up. You can choose to enroll your fingerprint(s) now by clicking Continue and following the on-screen instructions, or you can select "Set Up Later" to configure Touch ID at another time.

Choose Your Look: Finally, you can select your preferred appearance (Light, Dark, or Auto). Choose your desired look and click Continue to complete the initial setup of your Mac.
Once you have completed these steps, your Mac will continue with any final configurations and automatically install the necessary applications, including:
- Google Chrome
- 1Password
- Slack
- SentinelOne
Your new Inktavo Mac will soon be ready for you to start working!
