Password Recovery Options
Self-Service Password Reset
The easiest and fastest way to reset your Inktavo password is through the self-service portal. This option is available if you have previously set up recovery options like a recovery email address or phone number.
- Go to the Google Account Recovery page: https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery in your web browser.
- Enter your email address: Type in your Inktavo email address and click Next.
-
Follow the prompts: Google will present you with recovery options based on the information associated with your account. These may include:
- Receiving a verification code via email: A code will be sent to your recovery email address. Enter the code to verify your identity.
- Receiving a verification code via text message (SMS): A code will be sent to your recovery phone number. Enter the code to verify your identity.
- Using a backup code: Using one of your generated backup codes for 2FA, you can copy/paste them into the corresponding field. Keep in mind that you can only use each code once. If you have trouble using this method, please submit a helpdesk ticket by emailing helpdesk@inktavo.com.
- Create a new password: Once your identity is verified, you'll be prompted to create a new, strong password. Follow the on-screen instructions and choose a password that is unique and difficult to guess. Do not reuse passwords across different accounts.
FAQ
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Issues
2FA adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a verification code in addition to your password. Here's what to do if you encounter issues with 2FA during password recovery:
I don't have access to my phone/authenticator app
When you set up 2FA, you were provided with backup codes. These codes can be used in place of a verification code from your phone or authenticator app. Locate your backup codes and enter one when prompted. Note: Each backup code can only be used once.
I lost my backup codes
If you don't have access to your backup codes or have lost them, contact IT Support by emailing helpdesk@inktavo.com, and a new set up 2FA codes can be sent to you to re-enable your account.
Best Practices for Password Security
Your password should adhere to these guidelines and include each of the following:
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
- A minimum length of 12 characters
- Avoid using easily guessable information such as your name, a birthday, or your pet’s name
Additionally, please refrain from reusing passwords and ensure each account has a unique password. Lastly, keep your backup codes in a safe location, such as 1Password, in case you need to access them on a separate device.
